To help kick off 2018 in a more organized start, I bought Simply Clean by Clean Mama with my Amazon Gift Card that I got for Christmas (along with other things). I’ve gotten pretty far in the book and have decided I’m going to do my best to post every day on here and show you what challenge I’m working on. I already have a weekly routine that works for me, but I’m going to try her way for a short time in January. I’m also going to do her 7-Day Simply Clean Kickstart.
If you don’t have her book, I highly recommend it.
Here is the 7-Day Simply Clean Kickstart:
Day 1: Declutter
Day 2: Bathrooms
Day 3: Dusting
Day 4: Vacuuming
Day 5: Wash Floors
Day 6: Catch All
Day 7: Laundry
She doesn’t have a free printable of the details of this Kickstart on her website, but I think the Kickstart kind of speaks for itself. If you don’t know what a Catch All is, it’s basically getting anything you didn’t get done during the week done on this day. For example, if I didn’t get to the second bathroom on Bathroom Day, then on my Catch All day I can do it then. I don’t have to stress when I don’t get it done on the designated day, I can simply do it on my Catch All day.
I have already started working on my Decluttering. I started with my clothes. When she talks about the things to do on Declutter day, she talks very specifically of a simply collect everything that doesn’t belong and decide toss, keep, donate, or relocate.
I pretty much do this on a daily and about 2-3 times a day, so today instead of doing this for 30 minutes, I’m going to make a list of specific areas I wanna do my decluttering in.
Today is Sunday so Hubby is home to help watch the kiddo. I have managed to go through my drawers and separate. All the clothes I know fit are in the drawers neatly folded, the clothes that I know don’t fit or I just won’t wear are in a trash bag, and the clothes that I need to try on are in 2 piles. One pile I need to try on, the other is a pile of clothes that I have that are different colors but the same top as some that I have try on.
I suppose today will be considered as Day 1. I want to go through my daughter’s clothes, the food, kitchen, and anything else I can get to before dinner time. It is currently 3:30pm and I need to start making dinner around 5:30pm. We’re having leftovers from yesterday. (I’ll be doing a post about the drama going on soon.)
I’ll make sure to take pictures before bed and have them up in the morning. They will be featured as a gallery so it won’t be a regular post.
It is now 4pm. I got some things done while thinking this post out which is why it has taken a little over a half hour.
